Part of Alton Towers evacuated over toilet fire
Part of Alton Towers had to be evacuated due to a fire in a toilet at the theme blaze was quickly put out and people were temporarily moved away from the area while it was dealt with, a spokesperson for the resort in Staffordshire fire, in the Forbidden Valley section of the park, was spotted by a member of staff.A spokesperson for the fire service said they were called at 15:00 BST on Monday and found the fire, in an electrical extractor fan, had been put out by staff at the park before they arrived and no-one was hurt.
One toilet was damaged and another was affected by smoke from the fire, they cleared the area of smoke and made sure the fire was out and had not spread before they left at about 16: Alton Towers spokesperson thanked their guests and added that "the safety and wellbeing of our guests and team members is always our top priority".
